Alpine Valley Resort is a resort located in Wisconsin’s Sugar Valley Creek in the town of Elkhorn. Online, it is described as being one of the most diverse hills in the Midwest and perfect type of hill for the intermediate or more advanced skiers and snowboarders.
Alpine Valley Resort features over 90 acres of skiable terrain, 20 runs, and 3 terrain parks for skiers and snowboarders to experience. There is a good mix of beginner runs, intermediate runs, and advanced runs, but there are no expert runs in the mix. The vertical drop is 387 feet from top to bottom and the terrain is diverse and challenging. The three terrain parks feature things such as tubes, boxes, rails, and other things for a snowboarder to challenge.
Lessons in both skiing and snowboarding are offered for children and adults. There are a total of eight lifts, including two high-speed quad lifts, and five rope pulls, making getting around the resort very easy. Also featured is a base with a full-service bistro and many dining options.
Alpine Valley Resort is the only Southeastern Wisconsin resort to offer ski-in, ski-out lodging options. The resort itself has on-site lodging for those looking to stay multiple days. Families are also welcomed and there are movie nights for children.
Tickets for the lifts are priced at $55 for weekdays and $64 on weekends. The ski and snowboarding hills are open 10 AM to 10 PM on most nights.
